I really have no idea what he's gonna do after the World Series. But it's going to be fun speculating.

With the Cards postseason run, it is more likely he stays with the Cards.

They will likely be contenders again next year with Wainwright coming back.

-200 Cards
+150 Cubs
+300 Any other team

I Lean the Nats .... They have the Money, like you said... They have Almost All the Pieces , they just have to put them Together. I see them being Up or near the Top of the NL East in about 2 years.

Just my 2cents (<)<

Obviously the Cardinals want to sign him, but I don't think they are gonna go about it the right way. And it also seems that Pujols wants to stay. But he also wants to be the highest paid player in the game, something he definitely deserves. The Cardinals seem to think that the market is going to offer around what they previously offered, somewhere around 8 years and 190 million. It seems to me they want him to test the market so they can come back and say that they are giving him what he's worth. The problem with that is that someone is almost certainly gonna make a mind blowing offer like 10 years /250 million or even higher. They should offer 8/200 and get the deal done in the 5 day window before he hits the open market. The price can't go down, it can only go up if he talks to other teams. Who's to say the Yankees don't move Texiera to DH and offer him $275 million? At that point he walks because that would cripple any other team.

I'm 50/50 on this. I hope he stay but really have no idea what's gonna happen.

I'd like to see him stay in STL but I think he goes to NYY as the most expensive DH ever

He won't DH, I'm 100% certain of that. He'd play for $10 million a year before doing that.

The Red Sox are out of the running as they are set at first and they will never pay Pulhols money for a DH.

damn i forgot about the nats....with strasburg back and harper slowing making his way to the big leagues...and them playing .500 ball this year, a signing like pujols could really put these guys on the map and ready to contend (at least for a wildcard)

Good call with the Dodgers. They need to mend their relationship with the fans.

that just wont happen. Tex is arguably the best defensive 1st baseman in the game, so taking him off the field just doesnt make sense. a more likely scenario for the yankees is to make a-rod the DH and let pujols play 3rd. people forgot he came up in the minors as a 3rd baseman and utility guy, so it wouldnt be completely new to him moving over to 3rd. plus hes right handed so its a more natural position then 1st. moving arod to DH would also help him stay fresh with his aging body.

with that said i think the yankees would rather spend the money on some talented pitchers

ya i actually think it would be a good fit. the group that is rumored to be making offers at the dodgers is stupid rich, so this would be a great way turn the tides, kind of like mccourt did by signing manny. what ever happens with the dodgers the new owner is going to have to buy the fans love after what mccourt has done. its also a good fit with the strong latin community that follows the dodgers. and it will all but guarantee that kemp and kershaw stay. i just hope this dumb fuck is forced to sell the team

What do you mean by like D12 in NBA? Seems like Howard will leave unless the CBA just totally twists his arm.

Albert Pujols: Cashman: Yankees not interested in 1B Pujols
Albert Pujols - 1B - STL - Nov. 6 - 7:52 pm et
New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said on the Dan Patrick Show that the Yankees are not interested in free agent Albert Pujols.
"Despite him being fantastic, it's not an efficient way to allocate our resources," Cashman said. With Mark Teixeira entrenched at first base and Jesus Montero presumably the designated hitter of the future, New York really didn't have a place for Pujols anyway. "Offense is not an issue here," Cashman said. "Our priority this offseason is pitching." The apple of their eye seems to be Rangers pitcher C.J. Wilson. "I don't think it's a stretch to tell anyone he's the most attractive candidate," Cashman said. Nov. 6 - 7:52 pm et

Can you bet he is going to have the fattest contract in baseball before next season?

$275 million is ludicrous, even for an outstanding player like Pujols. I remember when Mickey Mantle was given a $100,000 contract that was then the richest in baseball, everyone was in awe. Today $100 grand a season is meal money for the big stars.

I am not sure who gets paid more out of the mainstream - star athletes or movie stars. When a first baseman can make more in a week than a 2nd grade school teacher can make in a career, there is something wrong with the society we live in.
